Clora Bryant not only provides some driving be-bop styled trumpet playing reminiscent of Dizzy Gillespie, but displays a very entertaining vocal style, as well. At the time of this recording she was performing regularly at the Oasis on Western Ave, with Eric Dolphy and Walter Benton, and often worked with Art Pepper at Hermosa Beach.
