La Mafia (The original “La Mafia”) recorded this, their second album in 1976, so they called it “La Mafia II”. Their first album, “Suenos de Amor”, had been released a few years earlier. Produced by Jaime de Aguinaga, with Pete Korelich, the producers of most Anahuac Records and Petko Music releases, this album is one of the best remembered Anahuac recordings. All of the material is original with all arrangements by the group. It is no surprise that this is a favorite. It is an excellent album, well recorded, that will be remembered by many who first heard it in 1976, and enjoyed by those who are favored only now with the opportunity to appreciate it. The group performs in a variety of popular styles, favoring Cumbias and Baladas on this release, but also performing Tex-Mex and a Polka. A very versatile group, with solid musical talent and experience. Well recorded and now available for the first time on CD.
