Anacani Montoya, born in Sinaloa, first was discovered on the TV show “Las Estrellas Y Usted”. In 1973, she was discovered in the US by Lawrence Welk and has appeared on his television show for many years. In 1975 she made this excellent recording for Anahuac Records, produced by Jaime de Aguinaga. In addition to singing and recording, Anacani has been the spokesperson for Yuban Coffee, and had a part in the film “Zoot Suit”. Anacani still performs with various symphony orchestras.
Anacani recorded four other great albums for Anahuac Records, but this was the first one. Anahuac spared no expense to make these recordings. When this recording was first released it sold extremely well in Mexico and Anacani was treated as a visiting star. The original album was also the best selling Anahuac recording up to that time. Accompanied by the great El Mariachi Cortez of Mexicali, with special arrangements by Lupe Cortez, this was an excellent recording of a very engaging and talented singer.
